At the Intersection with Doug Newton
How can you engage our culture with influential wisdom, character and grace? In each episode Doug Newton offers one observation about our contemporary culture, one biblical insight that speaks to that issue and one creative take-away to help listeners pursue and practice character traits that help them make a positive impact in their corner of the world. He's a 45-year pastor, national award-winning magazine editor and author of 24 books. In this podcast he puts all that experience and communication skill together with one goal: helping good people become better.

TOO PREOCCUPIED? (Part 2 of the Admiration Series)
TOO PREOCCUPIED? How To Notice Things That Make You Better. (Episode 12)
If you want to have impact on your corner of the world, you'll need to be an admirable person. How does that happen? You become what you admire. Admire honest people and you'll likely become more honest. Admire courage. You'll become more courageous. The power of admiration can't be overestimated. That's what I talked about in Episode 11: Admire Admiration in which Doug Newton reveals what he believes is the "most remarkable book ever written."
However, it's impossible to admire what you don't notice. In our culture there are so many distractions, so many ways we get preoccupied. In this episode I point listeners in the direction of a solution to the problem of preoccupation. Create "attention alerts" that will help you move from preoccupation to paying attention to things that really matter.
